Guidelines for abstracts

The seminar includes theme sessions on research and development in vocational higher education and vocational education. Proposals for theme sessions are to be sent by August 31, 2012 to info.tutkimuspaivat@tamk.fi . The program committee evaluates and categorizes the abstracts. Theme sessions are formed based on the abstracts received. The proposals may fall under the theme Cultural Challenges. The theme can be approached from different theoretical perspectives. Preliminary perspectives are:

1. Transnational Collaboration
2. Vocational Education and Work
3. Challenges of Comparative Research on Vocational Education
4. Implications from Adaptation of Anglo-Saxon Frameworks on Vocational Education
5. Ethical and Environmental Sustainability

Notifications of acceptance are sent by September 18, 2012. Presentation time is 30 minutes, including 20 minutes of presenting and 10 minutes of questions and discussion. The abstracts should not exceed 200 words. Please, indicate at the end of your abstract whether the nature of your presentation is a research paper or a work-in-progress project / best practices session. Include also the name of the presentation, the speaker and organisation(s) and under which theme the presentation is being offered.

Guidelines for roundtables

The seminar also welcomes roundtable sessions that include 3 – 4 brief introductions related to each other and more extensive discussion. Please indicate all topics, presenters and a chairperson for the proposed roundtable session. Proposals for roundtables are to be sent by August 31, 2012, info.tutkimuspaivat@tamk.fi. Notifications of acceptance are sent by September 18, 2012. Presentation time is 30 minutes, including 20 minutes of presenting and 10 minutes of questions and discussion. The roundtable session proposals should not exceed 200 words. Please, also indicate at the end of your proposal whether the nature of your presentation is a research paper or a work-inprogress project / best practices session.

Guidelines for posters

Proposals for posters are also welcome. The posters are displayed on the first day of the seminar, November 7, 2012. The seminar programme includes a certain time for the makers of the posters to present their posters. Proposals for posters are to be sent by August 31, 2012 to info.tutkimuspaivat@tamk.fi. Notifications of acceptance are sent by September 18, 2012.
